Soccer picked second in SLC's Preseason SID poll, third in coaches rankings

FRISCO ? The UTSA soccer team was picked to finish second and third, respectively, in this year’s Southland Conference SIDs and Coaches polls announced the league’s office on Thursday.

“It’s was a nice recognition to be selected in the top three on both polls this season,” head coach Steve Ballard said. “Our team worked hard this offseason and we are looking forward for the upcoming campaign.”

The Roadrunners, who finished second in the SLC standings with an 5-1-2 mark last season, collected one first-place vote in the coaches poll. UTSA tallied 60 points and were just one point shy of 2006 SLC Regular Season Champion Southeastern Louisiana, which was picked to finish second. Stephen F.
