DES MOINES, Iowa ?
UTSA senior All-American Ryanne Dupree posted the fastest qualifying time in the women’s 100-meter hurdles preliminaries to highlight a solid day one Friday at the NCAA Midwest Regional.

Dupree blistered the Drake Stadium track for a time of 13.40 to win her 100m hurdles heat ahead of a trio of Texas A&M entries. The next closest time of the afternoon was a 13.48 turned in by A&M’s Jennifer Williams out of another heat. Dupree will aim for UTSA’s first-ever regional title in the final set for 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

Dupree also finished seventh in the long jump with a 19-10 ? measure and cleared 5-7 ? to tie for 19th in the high jump earlier Friday afternoon. The East Central High product already punched her ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon and could gain entry in the 100m hurdles field with a top-five finish or an at-large bid out of her season-best long jump mark of 20-6 1/4.
