LAWRENCE, Kan. ? UTSA senior All-American Ryanne Dupree added another school record to her resum? on Saturday, clocking an NCAA regional-qualifying time of 13.25 seconds to win the 100-meter hurdles on the final day of the 80th Kansas Relays held at Memorial Stadium.
Dupree shattered the previous school record of 13.36 set by Tiffany Talbert in 2000 and bettered her previous wind-legal personal-best of 13.50 posted in 2005. She beat Illinois’ Nikkita Holder (13.44) to the line for top honors, while fellow senior Lyndsey Sidney also met the NCAA regional standard with a fourth-place time of 13.87.
Dupree now owns four individual school records with this latest addition and also was a part of the shuttle hurdle relay team that broke the UTSA mark on Friday. The East Central High product also was a member of the school’s top indoor 4x400m relay team in 2005.
Dupree also leaped to a regional 20-0 ? measure to take second in the long jump. That mark is her second longest of the season and combined with a fifth-place showing in the high jump on Friday, gave her three individual top-five finishes during the meet. Zarinah Drakes of Nebraska also measured 20-0 ?, but grabbed first place due to a second-best mark of 19-9.
The 4x880-yard relay squad of seniors Diane Smith, Veronica Silva and Hope Jimenez and sophomore Brittney Britton passed the baton to a runner-up time of 9:22.62, close behind the winning Drake team (9:21.42).
In other action, Epps finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 19-2 ?, the 4x100m relay team placed seventh in 46.31 and Silva took seventh in the 800m in 2:16.07.
