SAN ANTONIO ? The UTSA women’s track and field team will travel toLawrence, Kan., this week to compete in the 80th Kansas Relays held atMemorial Stadium.
One of the top annual track events in the nation, this year’s KansasRelays features more than 5,000 high school, college and professionalathletes representing 14 states and four nations. The four-day meetkicks off on Wednesday with day one of the multi-events and runsthrough Saturday afternoon’s running finals.

The Roadrunners are coming off a solid week that saw the team performwell at both the Spec Towns Invitational in Athens, Ga., and the DavidNoble Relays in San Angelo. Sophomore Ashley Jackson led a strongeffort in Georgia, finishing second in the 200 meters in 24.25 behindShalonda Solomon of perennial track powerhouse South Carolina. TheCorpus Christi King High product also brought home the 4x100m relayteam in 46.40, just behind South Carolina’s 46.36. Jackson helped the4x400m relay team place third with a 3:44.37 clocking behind SouthCarolina (3:40.66) and Minnesota (3:42.04).
