KERRVILLE ? Junior Thomas Kearney closed out Wednesday’s final round of the 2007 Southland Conference Men’s Golf Championships with a 77 and finished tied for seventh place (70-69-77=216).
Sophomore Kyle Collins began the day in 13th place, but he moved up a slot with a 74-74-71=219. Senior Matt Johnston and junior Phillip Krohn capped off their days tied for 15th, while freshman Simon Merry, who carded a 77-74-74=225, finished tied for 21st place.
In team standings, the Roadrunners turned in a final-round 296 to finish in third place. Lamar defended its title with a three-day total 284-268-273=825 to capture the Championship.
