Trent Lockwood

FRISCO — Junior Trent Lockwood was named the Aeropostale/Southland Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Lockwood continued his recent tear at the plate last week, as the Roadrunners went 2-2, including taking two of three contests against Northwestern State over the weekend. The Groesbeck native hit safely in all four games, including a trio of multi-hit efforts. For the week, he hit .438 (7-16) with four runs scored, a double, one triple, a home run and five RBIs. Currently on an eight-game hitting streak, the Roadrunners first baseman has hit safely in 20 of the last 21 contests, 15 of which have resulted in two or more hits.

Lockwood leads the Roadrunners in batting average (.379), hits (53), multi-hit games (19), RBIs (37), total bases (88), slugging percentage (.629) and on-base percentage (.447) this season.

UTSA (21-15) returns to action on Tuesday when it opens a two-game series against Texas-Pan American (15-28). First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Roadrunner Field.
