SAN ANGELO — Two school record-breaking performances and five first-place finishes highlighted the UTSA men's track & field squad's full day of action at the David Noble Angelo State Relays on Saturday.
Junior Luke Johnson won the hammer with a UTSA-record toss of 52.90m (173-7) to break the mark he set at last year's Southland Conference Championships (52.45m). Johnson also earned first-place honors in the shot put with a throw of 16.76m (55-0).
Freshman Mo Jackson was the other Roadrunner to post a record-breaking performance, as he skipped to a 14.62m (47-11 3/4) to place fifth in the triple jump.
Other winners on the day included senior Scott Briscoe in the 200 (21.58) and the 400-relay squad (40.77). Meanwhile, junior Cedric Harris recorded the top preliminary time in the 100 meters (10.40w),
UTSA is back in action on Saturday, April 21, when it travels to Austin for the second time in three weeks for the Texas Twilight meet.
