TAMPA, Fla. - The UTSA men’s tennis team fell 5-2 at South Florida on Sunday morning at the USF Complex. The Roadrunners dropped to 9-10 on the season, while the Bulls improved 7-10 overall. UTSA has dropped five consecutive matches.
South Florida took the early 1-0 lead winning two of the three doubles matches.
In singles action, USF won four of the six matches. The Bulls went up 2-0 via a default at the No. 6 position. Freshman Rodrigo Morgado cruised past Ales Svigeli (6-3, 6-4) at the No. 1 slot and junior Adam Becker tied the match at two when he collected a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Keith Embree at No. 5. However, South Florida won the final three matches to clinch the match.
UTSA returns to Southland Conference action against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday, April 7, at the UTSA Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
