AUSTIN —
Senior All-American Brandon Buteaux leads the decathlon with 3,871 points after first-day action at the 80th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

Buteaux, competing in his first decathlon in two years, is 46 points ahead of second-place Raven Cepeda of Northern Iowa. The San Antonio native posted third-place efforts in the long jump (7.13m/23-4 3/4) and shot put (13.32m/43-8 1/2). Sophomore Tommy Wolfe stands in ninth place with 3,633 points.

In other action on Wednesday, senior All-American Larry Brooks finished fourth overall (1:51.53) in his first outdoor 800 meters of season.

The four-day meet continues on Thursday.
