UTSA women?s tennis to host pair of Southland Conference matches this week

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women’s tennis team closes out its home schedule this week against Northwestern State on Thursday (3 p.m.) and Central Arkansas on the following morning (10 a.m.).

The Roadrunners snapped their three-match losing streak with a thrilling 4-3 win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi last Saturday at the UTSA Tennis Center. UTSA is 10-6 on the season and 4-3 in SLC play. The Roadrunners are holding on to the final spot of the SLC Women’s Tennis Tournament.

The Lady Demons are 8-7 on the year and 4-4 in conference play. Northwestern State fell 5-2 against Texas-Arlington on Sunday at the NSU Tennis Complex and currently stand seventh in the league, trailing UTSA by one match for the final spot in the tournament.

The Sugar Bears are 4-14 overall and 1-8 in SLC play. UCA dropped a 7-0 decision against Texas-Arlington on Monday in Conway, Ark. Their lone conference win came at McNeese State by a score of 5-2 on March 10.
