The Roadrunners (8-12, 3-2 SLC) got on the board quickly in the first game when Rogers scored on a basses-loaded passed ball in the bottom of the first inning. UTSA added another run in the third inning with a sacrifice fly off the bat of first baseman Krista Sitka scoring Kourtney Jones.
UTSA extended the lead in the bottom of the fourth with four runs including Rogers's third home run of the season and Jones' sacrifice fly, which pushed the lead to six runs. The game ended in the sixth due to the mercy rule, as Murray's second homer on the year sailed over the wall in left center.

In the second game, UTA (12-9, 3-2 SLC) scored the only run of the game in the top of the fifth off a fielding error by Rogers plating Courtney Anderson who scored from second. Mavs' pitcher Laura Jones held on to the narrow margin pitching seven scoreless innings surrendering only three hits and striking out three 'Runners to improve to 4-3 on the year. For the Roadrunners, Janeille Nickels recorded the loss, moving her record to 3-4.
UTSA will look to take the rubber match on Sunday. First pitch in the series finale is slated for noon at Roadrunner Field.
