UTSA stands seventh after first round of Lamar Invitational

- Freshman Madison McClain is tied for sixth place after firing a 39-39=78 in the first round of the Lamar Invitational on Monday at the Beaumont Country Club. UTSA stands in seventh with a first-round score of 328.

Sophomore Allie Jordan carded a 40-41=81 to finish tied for 24th place at the end of the first round, while junior Lesan Gouge is one stroke behind Jordan (73-39=82). Freshman Shelly Martinez is tied for 43rd with a first round tally of 48-39=87.

UTSA resumes play Tiesday morning for second- and third-round action.
