SPRINGFEILD, La. – The UTSA men’s golf team finished the first day of the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate in 13th place with rounds of 310-296=606 on Monday at the Carter Plantation Course.
Junior Thomas Kearney highlighted the day for the Roadrunners with a 16th-place finish after carding a 72-75=147. Freshman Simon Merry is three strokes behind Kearney at 74-76=150, while senior Matt Johnston shot an 80 in the first round but bounced back to fire a 74 in the second to finish tied for 50th.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
