Roadrunners head to Beaumont for Lamar Invitational

SAN ANTONIO - After a two-week layoff, the UTSA women’s golf team returns to action at the Lamar Invitational on Monday. The two-day tournament at 8 a.m. with the first and second round, followed by the final round on Tuesday at the Beaumont Country Club.

The Roadrunners are coming off a 13th-place showing at the Islander Classic on Feb. 26-27 at the Corpus Christi Country Club.

Sophomore Allie Jordan, who played as an individual, finished tied for 20th after carding a final-round 71 (80-77-71=228), while sophomore Laura Baker capped off the tournament tied for 46th (76-80-79=235). Freshman Shelly Martinez finished three strokes behind Baker at 238 (77-79-82), while freshman Kayla McBride ended her day tied for 57th (81-83-76=240).
