SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men’s golf team heads to Springfield, La., for the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate this week. The two-day tournament is scheduled for a 36-hole shotgun start on Monday, which begins at 8 a.m. at the Carter Plantation Golf Course (par 74/7,409 yards). The final 18 holes will be played the following day.
In his collegiate debut two weeks ago, freshman Simon Merry placed third at the UTSA Intercollegiate. Merry shot a final-round 74 at Oak Hills Country Club and carded a final score of 214.
The UTSA “A” team finished in third place at the tournament with a 303-295-293=891, while UTSA “B” placed eighth after carding a 299-296-305=900.
