Brooks fails to advance at NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior Larry Brooks, trying to become the fourth All-American in UTSA history, did not advance to the 800 meters final on Friday at the NCAA Indoor Championships. This year’s Southland Conference Champion clocked a 1:53.76 and finished eighth in his preliminary heat.

Brooks entered the meet having run a school-record 1:48.72 at last weekend’s Iowa State NCAA Qualifier, a mark that ranked eighth in the country.

The Roadrunners open the 2007 outdoor season next weekend when they host the Eighth Annual UTSA Relays at Blossom Stadium. The two-day meet begins on Friday, March 16.
