CORPUS CHRISTI - The UTSA women’s golf team shot a 310-324-314=948 and finished in 13th place at the Ed Hicks Nissan Islander Classic held at the Corpus Christ Country Club.
Sophomore Laura Baker capped off the tournament tied for 46th with rounds of 76-80-79=235, while freshman Shelly Martinez finished three strokes behind Baker (77-79-82=238). Freshman Kayla McBride ended her day tied for 57th place (81-83-76=240). Junior Lesan Gouge and Madison McClain finished the day tied for 59th place (241).
In individual action, sophomore Allie Jordan moved from 47th place to 20th place after firing a final round 71 (80-77-71=228). Sophomore Michelle Kowalick capped off the day in 85th place (93-89-88=270).
UTSA is back in action when it travels to the Lamar Invitational from March 12-13.
