FRISCO ? The Southland Conference announced this week that 35 Roadrunner student-athletes have been named to the 2006 Fall Captial One/SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Among non-football schools, UTSA tied Central Arkansas for the most selections.
Among the student-athletes honored for their work in the classroom were SLC Freshman of the Year and first-team All-SLC soccer player Chelsea Zimmerman and first-team All-SLC volleyball player Connie Picard. Second-team soccer player Ezinne Okpo also was selected, as were All-SLC volleyball players Megan Daniel, Erin McMillan and DeeDee Strickland.
Presented by Captial One Bank, the honor roll recognizes student-athletes who competed in league championship sports during the fall semester and maintained at least a 3.0 grade-point average while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.
