FRISCO – Junior hurdler Will Vese was named the Aeropostale/Southland Conference co-Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Vese shared the honor with Northwestern State’s Ravyn Hayward.
Competing in his hometown on Friday, the Houston native recorded his second NCAA provisional time in as many weeks, as he won the 60-meter hurdles in 7.91 at the Leonard Hilton Memorial. Two weeks ago, he placed second at the season-opening Arkansas Invitational. His time of 7.85 at that meet put him second on UTSA's all-time performer list.
The Roadrunners are back in action this weekend when they travel to the Northern Arizona Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz., on Friday, Jan. 26, and the Washington Invitational in Seattle, Wash., the following day.
