Men's track & field to compete at Leonard Hilton Memorial on Friday

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's track & field team returns to competition on Friday when it travels to Houston for the Leonard Hilton Memorial. Twenty-five Roadrunners will compete during the day-long event at Bill Yeoman Field House.

At last weekend's season-opening Arkansas Invitational, junior Will Vese raced to a NCAA provisional 7.85 — the second-fastest time in school history — in the 60m hurdles final. Seven Roadrunners won heats on the track that will host the NCAA Championships in early March and senior Larry Brooks, competing in the championship flight of the 800m, finished in fourth place. In the field, freshman Alton St. Rose skipped to a UTSA-record 14.50m in the triple jump.

Teams participating at the meet include Grambling State, Huston-Tillotson, Jackson State, Lamar, McNeese State, Nicholls State, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southern, Texas, Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas Lutheran, Texas Southern, Texas State and Tulane.
