McMillan named SLC Defensive Player of the Week

FRISCO - Senior Erin McMillan was named the Southland Conference's Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It marks the sixth player of the week honor of McMillan's four-year career.

The San Antonio native had yet another record-breaking week as UTSA won both its matches. She recorded 76 digs (8.4 pg) and stretched her streak of 30-dig performances to four matches.

McMillan began the week by breaking her UTSA single-match record with 42 digs (8.4 pg) against Texas State on Thursday night. She also broke the school's single-season mark in the five-game victory against the Bobcats. The two-time All-SLC performer followed that effort with 34 digs (8.5 pg) against Texas-Arlington on Saturday, which was her 10th 30-dig performance of the season

She now owns UTSA's single-match (42), single-season (701) and career (2,246) records, all of which have been set this year. Her career total ranks among the top 10 in NCAA history.

The Roadrunners (19-12) are back in action on Friday night when they play Texas State (14-16) in the quarterfinals of the SLC Tournament at the Convocation Center. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. For more information on this year's event, click here.
