WACO - Benson Cheserek capped a successful senior season with a solid showing on Saturday at the NCAA South Central Regional held at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course.
Cheserek finished 48th in the field of 123 runners, covering the 10,000-meter loop in a time of 32:12.6.
Senior Aaron Castro also ran strong, finishing 79th in 33:22.9. Freshman Corey Vargas and junior Adrian Vargas also competed, placing 111th (35:22.3) and 112th (35:29.0), respectively.
Shadrack Songok of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won the men’s race in 29:40.5 and Arkansas captured the team title.
