LAFAYETTE, La. – The UTSA men’s golf team shot a final-round total of 587, as they finished two strokes behind Sam Houston State at the Battle of the Bend Tournament in Toledo Bend, La. The Roadrunners placed five golfers in the top 20, with three finishing in the top 5.
Sophomore Kyle Collins finished third with a 74-71=145 on the day, while juniors Thomas Kearney and Shane Costelloe ended their day tied for fifth place with a final score of 147. Junior Nick Olivarri turned in a 75-74=149 for a 13th-place finish. Senior Matt Johnston ended the day tied for 18th place (76-74=150).
Meanwhile, junior Phillip Krohn totaled a 147 for a fifth-place individual finish.
