Roadrunner Field to light up for UTSA Fall Tournament this weekend

SAN ANTONIO - The three-time defending Southland Conference champion UTSA softball team will break in the new lights at Roadrunner Field this weekend with the UTSA Fall Tournament on Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 7-8.

Incarnate Word, St. Edward’s, St. Mary’s, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas State join the Roadrunners in the two-day event with a full slate of seven games scheduled for Saturday, followed by three contests on Sunday.

Day passes are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children ages 12 and under get in free.

UTSA opens with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 5:45 p.m. and plays St. Edward’s at 7:30 in the first-ever games under the new lights, which were installed last week at Roadrunner Field. On Sunday, the Roadrunners meet St. Mary’s at 11:45 a.m. and St. Edward’s at 1:30 p.m.

The softball team, coaches and support staff will be honored for their 2006 SLC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearance at halftime of the soccer game against Southeastern Louisiana Friday night at the Recreational Sports Complex.
