SAN ANTONIO – In just its first season, the UTSA soccer team stunned the Southland Conference, finishing in second place in the league, one point behind Southeastern Louisiana. The Roadrunners were tabbed seventh in the preseason polls.
UTSA wrapped up its regular season with an 8-8-2 overall record and a 5-1-2 SLC mark. The Roadrunners, winners of four of their five games, will be the No. 2 seed at the 2006 Southland Conference Tournament, played from Nov. 2-5 in San Marcos. The Runners earned a first-round bye and will play the winner of the Stephen F. Austin and McNeese State game at 7 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 3 at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
