SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA men’s and women’s cross country teams return to action this Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Texas Invitational in Austin. The meet will be the final tuneup for both squads before the Southland Conference Championships on Friday, Oct. 27.
The men’s four-mile run begins at 8 a.m. at Hancock Golf Course, followed by the women’s 5k at 8:30 a.m. The Roadrunners will compete against teams from Houston, North Texas, Texas (men only) and Texas State.
The women are coming off a strong showing at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 30. Led by top-20 finishes from senior Hope Jimenez (16th) and freshman Faith Barlow (19th), the Roadrunners placed fourth in the seeded 4,000m race.
Senior Benson Cheserek placed 63rd overall and 49th among collegians in a loaded men’s seeded 8k field, helping the Roadrunners finish 13th.
