Baseball announces fall events

SAN ANTONIO - Even though the official start to the 2007 season won't take place until next February, the UTSA baseball team will give fans a sneak preview of this year's squad in late October. Roadrunners head coach Sherman Corbett announced Tuesday that this year's Alumni Weekend is scheduled for Oct. 27-28.

The 15th annual Roadrunner Baseball Golf Scramble will take place on Friday, Oct. 27, at La Cantera's Palmer Course. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start with lunch and dinner being served.

The following evening, UTSA's Alumni Baseball Game will be played under the newly-installed lights at Roadrunner Field. A pregame picnic will begin at 4 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Roadrunners are coming off a 37-22 campaign that saw them finish in a second-place tie in the Southland Conference with a 20-10 mark.
