| June 23, 2006 Neugebauer-Groff earns USA Volleyball service award SAN ANTONIO – UTSA head volleyball coach Laura Neugebauer-Groff was one of five recipients honored with the 2006 Robert L. Lindsay Meritorious Service Award, the Lone Star Region of USA Volleyball announced this week. The award is presented annually to members who make outstanding contributions in the area of regional operations. In four years at UTSA, Neugebauer-Groff has tutored nine all-conference players and seven all-academic honorees, including 2005 Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year Meagan Daniel. Under her guidance, the Roadrunners have finished among the top four spots in the SLC standings three times and advanced to three consecutive league tournaments. A highly-respected coach and player who is legendary in the San Antonio area, she continues to play an active role in developing volleyball in south Texas as the director of the Alamo Volleyball Club, a post she has held since 1993. |
