| May 30, 2006 Wolfe earns at-large berth to NCAAs
SAN ANTONIO – Senior decathlete Bryan Wolfe (right) became the third UTSA athlete to advance to this year’s NCAA Championships when he was officially given an at-large berth on Tuesday afternoon. In April, Wolfe earned a provisional mark at the Texas Relays with 7,260 points.
Wolfe joins sophomores Steven Brown and William Vese, who earned automatic qualifying marks this past weekend at the NCAA Midwest Regional in Austin. Brown leaped 7.79m (25-6 ľ) on Friday night to break school’s 20-year-old record in the long jump, while Vese finished third in the 110-meter hurdles (13.92).
The national meet begins June 7 at Sacramento State's A.G.Spanos Sports Complex and runs through June 10. |
