The Bobcats got one run back in the top of the second inning. Senior Cody Merell and junior Aaron Garza reached on back-to-back singles. Merell and Garza advanced to second and third on a UTSA throwing error. Senior David Bednarek's RBI-groundout to short scored Merrell from third to cut the lead to 2-1.
