PLANO, Texas – UTSA junior Larry Brooks has been named Aeropostale Southland Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Brooks clocked a personal best and NCAA Regional qualifying time of 1:49.64 to win the 800 meters at the Rice Twilight for the second straight year last Saturday night. His time is the top mark in the Southland Conference this year, ranks in the top 15 in the Midwest Region and in the top 35 nationally. Brooks bettered his previous personal record of 1:49.69 recorded two years ago at the Rice Twilight.
Chinelo Nwoby of Lamar received the women’s weekly award.
The Roadrunners are off until the SLC Outdoor Championships on May 13-15 in Arlington, Texas.
