Vese, Briscoe, Harris and Brown passed the baton to a blistering time of 39.91 to finish fourth in the Invitational section of the 4x1. Team USA’s Red squad won the race in 38.62, followed by USA Blue (39.36) and France (39.64).
The men’s 4x400m relay team of Briscoe, Sissel, senior David Burnett and junior Larry Brooks also was impressive, finishing fourth in the University final with a regional-qualifying 3:08.81. The same foursome clocked a season-best 3:08.22 on Friday in the prelims, the fourth-best time in school history. Houston won the race in 3:06.80.
The women’s distance medley relay team of senior Rita Lambert and juniors Diane Smith, Veronica Silva and Hope Jimenez finished ninth with a 12:08.77 clocking in a race won by Baylor in 11:19.45.

In other action, UTSA senior All-American Ryanne Dupree, competing unattached, finished seventh in the women’s Invitational 100m hurdles with a windy 13.57 two days after setting a personal best and qualifying for the U.S. Outdoor Championships with 5,606 points in the heptathlon.
