Marianne Sevin named director of basketball operations at Texas Tech
SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women’s basketball program announced Tuesday that assistant coach Marianne Sevin has been named director of women’s basketball operations at Texas Tech.
“It’s a great opportunity for Marianne to work with a great women’s basketball program,” said UTSA head coach Rae Rippetoe-Blair, who just completed her sixth season at UTSA. “We will miss Marianne greatly, but I know she will do a great for (head coach) Kristy Curry at Tech.”
Sevin spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach at UTSA, were she served as recruiting coordinator and position coach for the post players. She played an important role during the 2002-03 season, helping the Roadrunners win their first-ever Southland Conference (SLC) regular season championship. She also helped guide UTSA to the 2006 SLC Tournament championship game in March.
Sevin’s Texas Tech appointment is effective immediately. A search is underway for a replacement.
