UTSA looks for season sweep at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Wednesday

SAN ANTONIO - Riding a season-long eight-game winning streak, the UTSA softball team travels down I-37 for a non-conference doubleheader at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday, April 19. First pitch in game one is set for 1 p.m. at Islander Field.

Islander Field   -   Corpus Christi, Texas

The Roadrunners swept the Islanders in a doubleheader at home on March 9, 9-1 and 7-3. UTSA leads the all-time series with TAMU-CC, 14-7, and have won three straight meetings.

UTSA (24-11) is coming off a second straight road sweep in Southland Conference play, taking care of Nicholls State, 6-5, 8-1 and 10-0, last weekend in Thibodaux, La. The Roadrunners are 16-5 in the league, good for second place behind Texas State (16-2).

The Islanders have struggled to a 6-30 record this year after making two straight NCAA Regional appearances the past two seasons. TAMU-CC has dropped 12 straight decisions and have played all 36 games so far away from home, as Wednesday's twinbill is the team's home opener.
