SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women’s tennis team picked up its sixth Southland Conference victory with a 7-0 win against Nicholls State Saturday morning at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners began the day winning all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.
In singles action, UTSA won all six matches in straight sets. Nathalie Wallin defeated Veronika Ramirez in straight sets at the No. 1 position. Sandra Kukla picked up another win at the No. 2 slot with a 6-0, 6-1, win over Lilian Leermakers. Kukla continues to remain unbeaten at the No. 2 singles in conference play. UTSA clinched the match when Karen Scida cruised past Neo Malope 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 3 singles. Also picking up a win was Ana Paula Soto with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Sandra Gloria.
UTSA returns to action April 9 against Southeastern Louisiana at the UTSA Tennis Courts at 11:00 a.m.
