No. 17 Texas A&M Aggies defeat UTSA men’s tennis, 7-0

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – No. 17 Texas A&M Aggies defeated the UTSA men’s tennis team, 7-0, Sunday evening at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station, Texas.

The Aggies improved to 12-6 overall, while the Roadrunners dipped to 7-10 on the season.

Texas A&M began the match sweeping all three doubles matches and take a 1-0 lead.

In singles action, TAMU won all six matches in straight sets. At the No. 1 slot UTSA’s Anthony Portois was defeated 6-3 and 6-3 by Aggie Bryan Wooten. Texas A&M’s Conor Pollock cruised past Adam Becker of UTSA by scores of 6-4 and 6-2. In the No. 3 singles match, Robin Fernandes of UTSA was beaten 7-5 and 6-3 by TAMU’s Brett Joelson. Joe Olfindo and Hetori Chaves were also in action, but loss their matches at the No. 4 and No. 5 position.

UTSA returns to Southland Conference action on April 8th against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 12 p.m.
