SPRINGFIELD, La. - The UTSA men’s golf team finished 10th at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Southeastern Louisiana on Monday-Tuesday at Carter Plantation Golf Club (par 72/7,049 yards).
The Roadrunners fired rounds of 307, 316 and 307 for a 54-hole total of 930, just seven strokes out of the top seven. Southeastern Louisiana won the team title with an 297-303-296-896, followed by Mississippi State (904), Jacksonville State (904), South Alabama (908) and Southern Mississippi (909).
Individually, sophomore transfer Thomas Kearney tied for 28th with a 77-79-75-231, while junior Matt Johnston and sophomore Nick Olivarri were close behind in 32nd (76-81-75-232) and 34th (75-82-77-234), respectively. Senior John Elizondo tied for 41st (237) and freshman Kyle Collins tied for 46th (239) to round out the top five.
The Roadrunners return to the course on April 17-19 for the Southland Conference Championship in Kingwood, Texas.
