SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The UTSA women’s golf team finished in seventh place among Division I schools with a 345-342-337-1024 at the final day of the UTSA Rowdy Round-Up held at the Buckhorn Golf Course Tuesday morning.
UTSA was led by freshman Laura Baker (right) who turned in scores of 75-82-80-237 to tie for 18th place. Freshman Allie Jordan finished tied for 44 with a final score of 87-80-84-251, while freshman Jenna Wessels finished in 58th place, as she carded a 90-89-86-265. Also playing for UTSA was freshman Neely Hutchins who placed 65th with a score of 93-96-87-276. Sophomore Michelle Kowalick ended the day with a score of 95-91-94-280.
Lamar’s Theresa Nielsson won the individual by eight strokes (75-72-74-221), among the Division I schools, over Mary Betancourt of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, who posted a final score of 76-73-80-229.
Christina Cung of Oklahoma City won the individual title over teammate Toni Pyrum by two strokes. Cung ended the day with a 74-75-75-226, while Pyrum shot 73-76-77-228.
