SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women’s golf team opened the first two rounds with a 345-342-687 for seventh place among division one schools in day one of the UTSA Rowdy Round-Up Monday at the Buckhorn Golf Course.
After turning in a 345 score after one round of play, the Roadrunners bettered their score with a 342 in second round. UTSA was led by freshman Laura Baker who carded a 75-82-157 for tied in 14th place, while freshman Allie Jordan stands 47th at 87-80-157. Fellow freshmen Jenna Wessels scored 90-89-179 and Neely Hutchins shot 93-96-189. Sophomore Michelle Kowalick posted a 95-91-186 after two rounds of play.
Lamar’s Theresa Nielsson holds the top spot with a 75-72-147 and lead by two strokes over Mary Betancourt of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Third round action continues with an 8 a.m. shotgun start at the Buckhorn Golf Course.
