UTSA to be featured Thursday on ESPN’s Pride of the Program
PLANO, Texas - Since Nov. 14, every ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU men's college basketball telecast has included an ESPNU's Pride of the Program segment celebrating an historic moment from each of the 326 Division I programs in alphabetical order. From Air Force on November 14 to Youngstown State on March 30, the season-long initiative offers fans 30-second vignettes looking back at a significant event in each school's history.
The UTSA men’s basketball program will be featured this Thursday, March 9, during one of ESPN’s telecasts.
The moments, which will be narrated by the on-site game commentators and may include a combination of video and photography, can be from any time in the history of the program.
"Every program has a story to tell and this will serve as a platform to recognize each school nationally," said Dan Steir, ESPN coordinating producer. "ESPNU's Pride of the Program is an all-inclusive diverse initiative that celebrates the passion and tradition of men's college basketball while giving the sports fan a history trip down memory lane."
The moments, with narration by ESPNU's Mike Hall, will be available throughout the season after the original airing via ESPN360, ESPN.com and Mobile ESPN.
From great shots to the memorable players and coaches to the improbable victories, ESPNU's Pride of the Program will encompass the best of the best from the history of college basketball.
