Series Record: Texas leads, 19-3-1

Week In Review:
UTSA dropped all three games last week to fall to 4-4 on the season. The Roadrunners played No. 9 Texas A&M down to the wire in both games of a doubleheader at College Station last Wednesday, falling 7-6 in game one and 4-2 in the nightcap. UTSA originally was scheduled to play in the Oklahoma State Easton Classic in Stillwater, Okla., last weekend, but that was cancelled due to weather. The Roadrunners played one game with the Cowgirls on Thursday and fell, 11-3, in five innings.

On The Other Side:

Former UTSA head coach Corrie Hill will be in the other dugout on Tuesday as she was named an assistant coach at Texas last August. While in San Antonio, Hill compiled a 221-180-1 record — becoming UTSA’s all-time winningest coach — and won two Southland Conference regular season titles. She also led UTSA to the 2004 SLC Tournament crown and the school’s only NCAA appearance.

Tough Stretch:

Including the doubleheader at Texas on Tuesday, UTSA will play five straight games — all on the road — against teams that qualified for last year’s NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M advanced to the Super Regional round while Texas was a national semifinalist.

Going, Going, Gone:

UTSA has led the NCAA in home runs per game in each of the last three seasons. The Roadrunners are off to a great start with 23 in their first eight contests (2.88 per game). Dating back to the beginning of the 2003 season, UTSA has slugged an amazing 307 home runs in 172 games (1.78 average).
