PLANO– UTSA’s freshman Nathalie Wallin earned Aeropostale/Southland Conference Tennis Player of the Week announced by the conference.
Wallin (right) concluded the weekend perfect as she extended her singles winning streak to four matches. However, those wins at the No. 1 position didn’t come easy. The Stockholm, Sweden native, defeated Lynley Wasson of North Texas, 7-5, 6-2, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Felippa Figueiredo, 6-3, 2-6, 10-4, Middle Tennessee’s Marlene Chemin, 6-1, 6-4 and UTEP’s Teri Wilkerson, 6-2, 7-5. Wallin also picked up a win in doubles.
UTSA tennis team returns to the court this Friday, Feb. 24, when they travel to College Station, Texas for a match up against Texas A&M Aggies, first serve is set for 12 p.m.
