SAN ANTONIO - The UTSA men’s and women’s tennis squads are both in action this weekend at the UTSA Tennis Center. The men (0-2) play host to Laredo College on Saturday at 10 a.m., while the women (2-2) play North Texas on Sunday at 10 a.m.
The women picked up a pair of victories two weeks ago, blanking Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 7-0, on Jan. 27 and defeating Texas-El Paso, 5-2, on Jan. 29. Freshmen Nathalie Wallin and Sandra Kukla both own 3-0 marks in singles play this season, while fellow freshman Karen Scida is 2-1.
The men dropped their first two matches to Rice, 6-0, and Central Florida, 5-2. The doubles duos of seniors Hetori Chaves and Anthony Portois along with sophomore Adam Becker and freshman Shaun Stewart are both 1-0 on the season.
