Box Score SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women’s tennis team fell to Southern Methodist University, 4-0, Saturday night at the UTSA Tennis Center. SMU started the night by winning the point in the doubles match. Nathalie Wallin and Barbara Mooney dropped a close match to Jennifer Chay and Kristen Reid of SMU, 8-6, meanwhile, Tanya Hasking and Karen Scida fell to Natalia Bubien and Svetlana Kouzmenko of SMU, 8-3. Sandra Kukla and Monika Drabkova were handed a 8-2 loss by Halley Rambally and Brooke Rambally.
In singles, the Mustangs won three of the six matches to seal the match. Chay defeated Drabkova, 6-0, 6-2, while sisters B. Rambally got the 6-2, 6-2, win over Mooney and H. Rambally won her sets, 6-4, 6-1, against Hasking.
The Runners return to action Sunday morning at 10 a.m. against Texas-El Paso at the UTSA Tennis courts.
