Roadrunners storm back for 76-67 victory at Stephen F. Austin

NACOGDOCHES – Freshman Nkem Ojougboh scored a career-high 21 points to help lead UTSA to an incredible comeback and a 76-67 victory over Stephen F. Austin Saturday afternoon at Johnson Coliseum.
The Roadrunners, who trailed by as many as 20 in the first half, outscored the Lumberjacks, 48-28 in the second half to improve to 7-9 overall and 2-3 in the Southland Conference. SFA falls to 9-7 and 2-4.
Ojougboh (right) topped his previous career high of 14 set against Murray State in December, knocking down 11-of-13 free throws to help UTSA blister the nets for an 88 percent (22-of-25) showing at the line.
Senior Andre Owens was limited to four points through the first 14 minutes but exploded for 20 overall, draining three 3-pointers down the stretch to help the comeback. Freshman Aldric Reynolds also reached double digits with 14 points, while sophomore Roderick Rodgers added six points and seven rebounds.
Marcus Clark led SFA with 22 points, including 6-of-11 on 3-pointers.
SFA jumped out to an early 24-8 lead behind red-hot shooting from behind the arc. Clark drained his first three 3-pointers to help the Lumberjacks stake a 34-14 lead through the first 13:08.
UTSA chipped away at the deficit with a 14-5 run before the half. Ojougboh came off the bench to provide 10 of his points in the half, while junior Chris Thompson added six to help key the Roadrunner run.
The Roadrunners got back into the game with a 15-9 run to start the second half. An Aldric Reynolds 3-pointer cut the deficit to three at 55-52 at the 7:25 mark. SFA answered with a Antuane Miller jumper and a pair of free throws from Anthony Paez.
