UTSA Men's Basketball begins team workouts on Saturday
SAN ANTONIO - The 2005-06 UTSA men's basketball team will begin workouts this weekend in anticipation of the coming season. The men will take to the hardwood of the UTSA Convocation Center on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m., and will work out again on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. Media are invited to the open workouts.
The Roadrunners are coached by Tim Carter, who is beginning his 11th season on the UTSA sidelines. UTSA is coming off of a 15-13 season that saw the Roadrunners claim fourth place in the Southland Conference with a 10-6 mark. Senior Andre Owens is UTSA's leading returning scorer, having averaged 11.2 points per game last season.
UTSA will open play with a Nov. 12 exhibition game against Concordia University. The regular season gets underway on Nov. 19 when Angelo State University comes to the Convocation Center.
