UTSA in eighth after day one of Baylor Invitational First and Second Round Results
WACO, Texas – The UTSA men’s golf team is in eighth place after 36 holes of the Baylor Invitational held Monday at Bear Ridge Golf Club (7,233 yards / par 72).
The Roadrunners fought back from a tough, opening-round of 308 to card a 297, putting them in eighth place after 36 holes, 10 shots back of George Washington for seventh. Lamar leads after two rounds with a 290-288=578, followed closely by host Baylor (293-290=583); Southeastern Louisiana (294-293=587); Texas-Arlington (299-289=588), Louisiana-Monroe (296-295=591) and Baylor’s “B” Team (2989-293=591.
Individually, sophomore transfer Thomas Kearney is tied for 29th after firing a 79-70=149. Playing as an individual, junior Kitt Thabungkan is tied for 32nd with a 74-76=150. Junior Matt Johnston is tied for 45th (76-76=152), senior John Elizondo is tied for 47th (76-77=153), freshman Kyle Collins is tied for 59th (82-74=156) and sophomore Nick Olivarri is tied for 59th (77-79=156).
The final round gets underway at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
