UTSA Cross Country teams back in action at Cowboy Jamboree Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA cross country teams are back in action this Saturday, Oct. 1, when they travel to Stillwater, Okla., to compete in the Cowboy Jamboree at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course.

The University Women's 5,000-meter race is scheduled to start at 9:10 a.m., followed by the men's 8k at 9:40 a.m. A number of ranked teams are scheduled to compete including Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Texas A&M. Full results will be available on Oklahoma State's web site at http://www.okstate.com/

The Roadrunners are returning from a two-week layoff due to the cancellation of the UTSA Invitational scheduled for last Friday, Sept. 23, because of  Hurricane Rita. In their last meet - the Rice Invitational on Sept. 17 - the women finished third and the men placed fifth.

At last year's Cowboy Jamboree, the women took 13th and the men were 18th in the toughest field of the season the Roadrunners faced. Meghan Chance was the top individual on either side, placing 53rd in 19:23 for 5,000 meters.
