Dupree to represent United States in Netherlands Heptathlon Challenge

SAN ANTONIO - By virtue of her 10th-place finish in the women's heptathlon at the 2005 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in June, University of Texas at San Antonio junior All-American Ryanne Dupree will represent the United States this Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 27-28, in the Netherlands Heptathlon Challenge in Woerden, The Netherlands.

Dupree will join a team of at least six other professional and college heptathletes that were among the top 10 finishers in the USA Outdoor heptathlon in June. Dupree, the 2005 Southland Conference Outdoor Athlete of the Year, scored 5,523 points for 10th place out of 17 competitors (second among collegians) at the USA Outdoor and broke her own school two weeks prior with 5,545 points for a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
