PLANO, Texas - The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) volleyball team has been picked to finish third in the 2005 Southland Conference (SLC) Head Coaches Preseason Poll and fourth by the league's sports information directors (SID), the conference office announced Wednesday.

UTSA received 79 points and one first-place vote to share the third slot with Texas-Arlington in the coaches poll. Co-defending champions Stephen F. Austin and Texas State were picked to finish first and second, respectively, in both polls, while Texas-Arlington edged UTSA for third in the SID poll by a 99-88 margin.
